CNC Programmer (Portsmouth, Va)

Function: Candidates are responsible for the programming and maintenance of computer numeric controlled production equipment. This position prepares detailed drawings utilizing computer software of architectural and mechanical designs and plans according to specifications, sketches, and rough drafts provided. Draws rough and detailed sketches, drawings, and plans to scale. Under limited supervision and within well-defined guidelines, performs in a professional position, usually as part of a team. Errors in work or actions limited to immediate work unit, usually corrected during normal quality control.

 Essential Functions May Include:

•Design and code CNC part programs along with complimenting documentation required to set up and run the NC part. 

• Compile and test programs, incorporating required corrections and revisions to prepare tooling,  programming, tapes, and documents for full production. 

 • Participate in design and development of appropriate tooling for CNC parts. 

 • Prepare and document instructions for operating personnel. 

 • Interface with users as required. 

 Qualifications:
• 2 years directly related experience
• Knowledge of CAM/CAD tools, software, and equipment
• Ability to plan and perform complex problem solving tasks
